The announcement that never was...

Cricket Finland

From 24th June to 30th June 2020 Finland was due to host a T20 World Cup European Qualifier tournament. Sadly due to the current Covid-19 pandemic this event has been postponed. It is hoped that this event can be rescheduled for later in the summer and i will be keeping my fingers crossed.

The event will mark two historic firsts: these qualifiers are the first of their kind for the T20 format; and the first time that Finland is hosting an international cricket tournament of this type. The fact that Finland has been chosen to host the event is a testament to the hard work and dedication from Cricket Finland and of course the Finnish community also.

I had prepared a post to explain that I will be attending this event and helping Cricket Finland to host the event and have been approved as an official game scorer. Sadly this event is being postponed and the future is uncertain. Rest assured, when this event is rescheduled, I will be doing all I can to attend!

When the event is rescheduled, I will be writing some posts about the games that I see and the progress of the Finnish National Cricket team. On top of that I plan to attend 2 Superpesis games at Hyvinkää and Kouvola (which are closest to where I will be based).

I had arranged to attend the following:
25th June 2020 Hyvinkään Tahko v Manse PP, Tampere
26th June 2020 Kouvolan Pallonlyöjat v Kiteen Pallo -90

As I will no longer be able to attend these games, I will be buying merchandise from Tahko and KPL’s stores to cover the cost of the tickets I would have bought. When the event is back on, I will be attending in any event, so both teams will get extra income from me then also.
