SiiPe has signed extension agreements with Samu Vainikainen and Ville Pietinen to the end of 2020, with an option clause for Vainikainen for 2021. In addition, SiiPe have added Ville Lantiainen to their ranks from Ykköspesis side Hamina. Lantiainen was Hamina’s leadoff man with a success rate of 61% including 68 1st base hits and made it home 37 times over 24 games. In addition, SiiPe has signed a contract with Kalle Miettinen from Ykköspesis side Kuopio who was a joker, but spent much of the year in Suomensarja  (lower division) or the Poiken (youth) league.

“I'm coming to Siilinjärvi with great pleasure and I'm going to play. There were a lot of good things about playing SiiPe last summer and I look forward to getting involved in the game for the coming season. It was also great to note that Siilinjärvi's home crowd was very involved and hopefully will be there next season as well. Last season went well for myself in Hamina and next summer's goal is to strive for a steady performance in both indoor and outdoor games”

“The team building up has taken its time after securing [a place in Superpesis], but with these contracts, the preparation for the coming season looks good. Negotiations are still underway with last season's players and 1-2 new players” explains SiiPe CEO Marko Heikkinen - translated by Google.
